Instagram is presently running a check that hides the overall range of likes for photos and views for videos in some countries. Though it’s still undergoing some preview, this update is active for locations like Australia, Brazil, Canada, Ireland, Italy, Japan and New zealand.

There is no assurance that Instagram will adopt this test update judging from past experience.
The aim of the micro-media blogging platform is to get users’ reactions and experience from the updates.
Some few updates had been withdrawn in the past after their acceptability turned out low. This might just be a lucky update to stay, we never can tell.
